It's the spring of freshman year, and Kanji Sasahara is in a quandary. Should he fulfill his long-cherished dream of joining an otaku club? Saki Kasukabe also faces a dilemma. Can she ever turn her boyfriend, anime fanboy Kousaka, into a normal guy? Kanji triumphs where Saki fails, when both Kanji and Kousaka sign up for Genshiken: The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture.

Undeterred, Saki chases Kousaka through the various activities of the club, from costume-playing and comic conventions to video gaming and collecting anime figures--learning more than she ever wanted to about the humorous world of the Japanese fan.

Great story. Got to say I loved almost every second of this manga and anime. The anime is good but it ends a little differently. If you you watch the anime and feel kind of disappointed in the ending, just read the manga.

You can read it here on OneManga

On the note of the anime, should I watch part 1, 2 and OVAs?

Or do you think that I should just stick with the 9 volume manga?

Part 1, OVA's, Part 2, then the manga at a certain chapter. That's the best way to do it I think. Make sure to watch the OVA's after Part one since they're really like a continuance of part one.

Here. Around here I think, it might be a little early but maybe not. It's been a while but I definitely remember starting around here somewhere.

If you want to pick up the manga right from where the anime stopped this is the closet point I could find.

sorry I don't know how to put links in words.

I just finished the manga and it was fantastic. If you've watched the anime you must read the rest of the manga.

The ending of the anime leaves you feeling kind of depressed and sad that such a good series is over, but the manga continues on a good deal, and has just the right plot points and events in the remainder to leave you feeling happy and satisfied when you're done reading. It's great closer for the genshiken fan.

Glad to hear you liked it. Anyways, was there any doubt in my manga judgement? I loved this one because it had an overall good feel to it.
